His registered name was Hillrose Taconic Ticket, born May 20, 2008, under a full moon, with a 1/2 moon star that had a swirl in the center to make it appear as a crescent moon.
He was royally bred. His lineage was no accident but a well thought out plan that started 15 yrs. before his birth. His pedigree read like a list of old NY State
Foundation Morgan blood, up close and some impossible to find. It goes back 100 yrs. in 5 generations on both top and bottom.
He was line bred Cornwallis,
Archie O, Lippitt Field Marshal
and a splash of Jubilee King as well.
His maternal grandsire brought in some old Lippitt blood and gave him 15% Ashbrook blood. He was to be my herd sire.
He was named before conception. I got a ticket for hauling his dam, down the Taconic Parkway to be bred. I researched the definition of
“Taconic” and it's the solid rock formation between NY & CT, which is where his dam & sire lived, so I thought, perfect, a Taconic Ticket.
He loved people and attention. All of the time, attention and handling that he received throughout his short life, is what bonded us forever.
I guess you had only to spend time with him to realize. He spoke to you with his eyes. You couldn't help but watch him. He was magnificent.
He was everything that I could have hoped for and more.
